PigPrints is inviting artists and art students from all over the world to submit their work for its 2022 Residency Prize competition.
The purpose of this prize is to give an individual artist the possibility of producing a limited edition etching and add his/her work to the existing list of artists that are already part of the gallery.
The selected artist will also be invited to spend a 2-week residency period in Milan and work in the printshop to produce other work.
BENEFITS / REWARDS
- 1,500 € monetary prize
- 2 weeks residency in Milan between January and July 2022.
- 50% of the edition, which will be printed in close collaboration with the studio in no less than 30 copies.
All costs for the edition and residency (not including travel to and from Milan, food and medical insurance) will be covered by PigPrints.
Artists are required to submit original drawings in black (pen, pencil, charcoal, watercolor etc.), in view of producing an etching. It is not required for the entrants to have previous knowledge of intaglio techniques.
Every artist can submit up to three entries.
There is a non-refundable 20 € entry fee for each submitted drawing, 30 € for up to three entries.
Early bird (until 31 October) 15 € for one entry, 25 € for up to three entries.
